On Friday, September 17, over 600 NEFBA members came out to Metropolitan Park to take part in the Margaritaville Gala.
Builders Care and many willing volunteers served up an island style dinner like no other. From “Cheeseburgers in Paradise” to their famous Low Country Boil with lobster tails and hot shrimp you were sure to be satisfied with the outstanding menu.
There was an array of entertainment including Jimmy Parrish and the Ocean Waves Band, DJ Joe Pellegrino and Polynesian dancers from Prince Pele’s Polynesian Revue. The most entertaining (and embarrassing) event of the evening was the limbo contest.
The contest came down to a hula-hoop match run off between the final two contestants. Hailey Donavant won the first place prize; $250 and the trophy and Cori Fountain grabbed second place; $150 gift certificate donated by Target.
Mark Downing, NEFBA Past President and president of CornerStone Homes claimed the most coveted prize of the evening after a final draw down from 50 tickets. He and his wife Becky will be headed to Atlantis on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Carla Luigs, Hines, won the $1,000 shopping spree and Vikki Robbins, Pace Builder Services and Steve Johnson, Johnson Home Builders each walked away with $500 cash prizes.
Thank you to all the sponsors who helped make this event such a great success for the association. The evening would not have been possible with out the work of Bill Wilson and Chris Simons of Builders Care. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.
One final thank you to all those who volunteered the evening of the event, we appreciate you sacrificing your time to help support our great organization. Next year’s gala is already in the works and we look forward to improving on an already fantastic tradition.
